True to form, here are some additional links on Windows 7
- Why is it called Windows 7? - Ed Bott’s Windows Expertise. Here’s the deal. It’s a kernel numbering thing (6.1). That’s basically it. Makes perfect sense to Microsoft.
- Windows Vista Team Blog : Why 7? – OK, let’s let Mike Nash try. Done reading it yet? Nope. Sorry Mike. Still not logical to anyone but Microsoft.
- WinFuture.de - Windows 7 Meilenstein 3 Build 6.1.6801 Screenshots & Fotos – Yeah, I know, the site is German, but fortunately the (tons of) pictures for this early Windows 7 release don’t require any German language skills. Is it me or do they still look like Vista?
- Windows "7" FAQ - Paul Thurrott beaks down the latest news and bits for us. Great material source!
- Windows 7 - new features for admins – 4Sysops – Yep, Michael did the heavy lifting for us and has distilled some great points on Windows 7 from Paul Thurrott’s FAQ.
- Not news: Microsoft changing UAC in Windows 7 - SuperSite Blog. UAC is here to stay. Just a bit more friendlier with the prompting and notification handling. That seems like a Good Thing to me.
You’ve been informed!
