Ah! My Goddess - Season 2 Website Opens

Ah! My Goddess is one of the most sugary-sweet manga/anime tiles out there.

It is right up at the top of the most romantic anime series we own (though the Please Teacher! and Please Twins! series are still numbers one and two in our home).

Belldandy is (literally) an angel from above. Exuding kindness, charm, compassion, and beauty to all she encounters. Except to those who challenge the ones she loves.

And her crazy sisters Urd and Skuld give laughs-galore to Alvis.

We have completed our collection of Ah! My Goddess (TV) season one DVD titles, own the original OVA series (still the best), the Ah! My Goddess movie. We haven't sprung for the "Adventures of Mini-Goddess" chibi-style series...maybe when a thin-pack is available.

Now season two looks to kick off in an early May 2007 release.

Bring it on!

For now, go enjoy the Ah! My Goddess (Flights of Fancy) Season Two website from ADV Films.

I think I've seen most of that series. I seem to enjoy the silly anime more than the serious (Ghost in the Shell, for example).

One thing though, I always prefer to watch the original Japanese with subtitles over English redubbing. I don't know, it just seems to make more sense to me that way.

I always liked about this series that the main character could sign his name "K1" instead of Keichi.

I've seen quite a few animes, and Ah! My Goddess is still, by far, my favorite. I too enjoy the silly/romantic ones over the serious ones, although I do love some of the action in other animes. I started watching this series with the original OAVs -- the five volume one that was titled "Oh! My Goddess". The music in it was amazing. And I just fell in love with it. I couldn't help it. There's a purity and beauty about everything in AMG.

I just finished watching Season 1 on the DVDs I bought, and am starting on Season 2. I can tell by the poor quality of the Season 2 discs I'm watching that they're bootlegged. :/ It's so poor, I debate on finishing watching it on these discs at all. Either way, i will be buying ADV's set when it gets released. And I don't know who's been doing the musical direction in these TV series, but they're genius. Season 1 had this unforgettable mellifluous tone to the intro, and the ending theme was so upbeat and uplifting. Season 2 has this Northern European/Scottish + pop mixed introduction, and the ending theme is just awesome as well.

Maybe it's because I'm only a casual anime watcher, but I really don't think it gets better than this. The pace is slow, but I don't care -- I know it's intentional, and there's a certain kind of comfort to the way nothing is rushed. I figure it's just more for me to enjoy!
