I too enjoy the silly/romantic ones over the serious ones, although I do love some of the action in other animes. I started watching this series with the original OAVs -- the five volume one that was titled "Oh! My Goddess". The music in it was amazing. And I just fell in love with it. I couldn't help it. There's a purity and beauty about everything in AMG.

I just finished watching Season 1 on the DVDs I bought, and am starting on Season 2. I can tell by the poor quality of the Season 2 discs I'm watching that they're bootlegged. :/ It's so poor, I debate on finishing watching it on these discs at all. Either way, i will be buying ADV's set when it gets released. And I don't know who's been doing the musical direction in these TV series, but they're genius. Season 1 had this unforgettable mellifluous tone to the intro, and the ending theme was so upbeat and uplifting. Season 2 has this Northern European/Scottish + pop mixed introduction, and the ending theme is just awesome as well.

Maybe it's because I'm only a casual anime watcher, but I really don't think it gets better than this. The pace is slow, but I don't care -- I know it's intentional, and there's a certain kind of comfort to the way nothing is rushed. I figure it's just more for me to enjoy!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13777170.post-33427777641101054882007-04-09T00:08:00.000-05:002007-04-09T00:08:00.000-05:00I think I've seen most of that series. I seem to enjoy the silly anime more than the serious (Ghost in the Shell, for example).

One thing though, I always prefer to watch the original Japanese with subtitles over English redubbing. I don't know, it just seems to make more sense to me that way.

I always liked about this series that the main character could sign his name "K1" instead of Keichi.gillicioushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16715792842082644016noreply@blogger.com
