In case you missed it, Apple is no longer going to support patching of Quicktime on Windows.
As a potential web-browser plugin, having an unpatched version present is an avenue for vulnerablity exploit on your system.
And with lots of other video playback options that can handle Quicktime media files, it just doesn’t make sense to keep this one around.

Well it is about time! QuickTime has been a royal pain in the ___ since the early days of Firefox. I remember QuickTime videos were a sure fire way to crash Firefox.
@FF Extension Guru - I can't remember the last time I actually used Quicktime to view anything. Maybe it auto launched when I tried to use iTunes to watch a video on my laptop? It always just came along for the ride it seemed with iTunes.
In the past I would occasionally see the Apple Software Updater list an update for it but it has been a very long time.
Won't be missed on my systems and that's one less browser plug in vector to worry about.
Cheers!
